About

PCEA Kimbo Church is the mother church of PCEA Kimbo Parish, serving as the spiritual home for 300 believers in Githurai Kimbo and surrounding areas since its inception in 1990.

Our History

The church was officially inaugurated on January 20, 2002. The ceremony was to be officiated by the Very Rev. Dr. John Gatu, the then moderator of the 9th & 10th General Assembly of the church.

The church was officially dedicated on 27^thJuly 2025 by The Right Rev.Thegu Mutahi the moderator of the 24th General Assembly.

From humble beginnings meeting in a small structure, the church has grown to become one of the most vibrant PCEA congregations in the region, with multiple extensions now serving as independent churches.

Leadership

The church is served by a dedicated team of elders:

• 9 active elders guiding the congregation
• 4 retired elders who continue to offer wisdom and support
• 1 ordained ministers serving the parish

Ministries

Kimbo Church hosts numerous active ministries including:

• Sunday School with over 200 children
• Youth Ministry with weekly meetings
• Women’s Guild with vibrant choir and fellowship
• Men’s Fellowship and service groups
• Bible study groups in various neighborhoods
