About P.C.E.A Kimbo Parish
Our History
The church was officially inaugurated on January 20, 2002. The ceremony was to be officiated by the Very Rev. Dr. John Gatu, the then moderator of the 9th & 10th General Assembly of the church. It has 3 congregations namely:
- P.C.E.A Kimbo Church
- P.C.E.A Unity Church
- P.C.E.A Imani Church
P.C.E.A Kimbo Church is the mother church and has a congregation of over 600 members. P.C.E.A Unity was started in the year 2015 around Mumbi,Githurai 45 to serve a larger community and has grown to serve over 300 members in its congregation. PCEA Imani was later inaugurated in September 2021 and its congregation is about 100 members. The parish currently has over 1000 communicants and 800 sunday school children.
It has 9 groups in the church that help to serve the church and community mainly:
- Evangelism
- Brigade
- Youth
- Church school
- Health-board
- Justice, Peace and Reconciliation(JPRC)
- Woman’s Guild
- Presbyterian Men Fellowship(PCMF)
- Christian Education
The church school and high school students during holidays undertake VBS classes to help nurture them more in Christ.
The parish operates under a governance structure guided by a strategic plan (2024-2029), financial policy manual, and monitoring tools such as internal audits and quarterly reporting.
